Job description

Position Summary

The Hydraulic Territory Manager is responsible for maintaining and increasing sales volume with existing and new accounts within the industrial and distribution channels. The role is accountable for executing assigned sales goals and sales plans within a designated sales territory, securing and maintaining distribution of hydraulic products (actuators, pumps, valves, hydraulic systems) and maintaining effective agreements.

Scope / Supervision and Interaction

Does Not Have Direct Reports.

Proactively works with all division management and related support departments to ensure customer service needs are met or exceeded. Represents the company at trade shows and other professional activities. Reports to Regional Sales Manager.

Essential Functions
  • Develops and maintains strong client relationships with OEM customers and distributor accounts while meeting position objectives. Prioritizes opportunities on an account‑by‑account basis to achieve optimal sales and margin results.
  • Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of group/divisional products, applications, features, advantages and benefits. Keeps current with internal and external training and development.
  • Obtains specifications and approvals at engineering firms, major accounts and/or distributors to develop increased sales opportunities and margins.
  • Builds knowledge of competitive products and market activity, providing regular reports to management and helping shape response strategies.
  • Supports division planning, providing the products and services required for assigned accounts and facilitating cross‑division referrals.
  • Provides product training at the distributor and customer levels, motivates and directs distributors, and aids in converting competitive accounts to Parker.
Qualifications
  • College degree in a technical discipline (required for certain groups) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in direct sales and/or distributor sales of industrial technical products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient PC skills.
  • Ability to travel overnight 50%‑70% of the time or as required.
  • Product and system certification preferred.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule
  • Pay Range: $87,050 to $145,250 annually.
