Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. You will analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control, dams and canals, leading engineers and coordinating across disciplines on major projects in the U.S. and beyond.

The role requires a PE license and about 10 years of related experience, with travel as needed. Partial remote work is available as part of a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 10 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control, hydroelectric and water resources projects.
• Lead project teams of structural engineers and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets and schedules for proposals.
• Forecast workload and schedules for projects.
• Prepare contract documents including drawings, specs and cost estimates.
• Perform engineering services during construction and review submittals.
• Conduct inspections and structural assessments of existing structures and prepare reports.
• Present technical information to project teams and clients.
