Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team on challenging flood control and water projects in the United States. The role offers partial remote schedules and opportunities to mentor junior staff while coordinating with diverse engineering disciplines.

You will design hydraulic structures, lead teams, prepare proposals, and manage budgets and schedules across large programs. Domestic travel may be required depending on project demands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Eng or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 10 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control and water projects.
• Lead project teams and coordinate with multi-disciplinary groups.
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
• Forecast workload and schedules.
• Prepare contract documents and bid packages.
• Review shop drawings and respond to questions during construction.
• Conduct inspections and prepare structural assessment reports.
• Present technical findings to teams and clients.
• Manage multiple large or medium projects and monitor budgets.
