Job summary
Valmont Industries is hiring a Fluid Power & Controls Engineer to design and support hydraulic, pneumatic, and motion-control systems for custom capital equipment and automation platforms. The role emphasizes hands-on development across the full lifecycle with collaboration across engineering, fabrication, and procurement teams.
Responsibilities include system sizing, component selection, and troubleshooting during build and commissioning, with travel up to 10%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
- 3+ years in fluid design/manufacturing engineering or machine design.
- PM/leadership experience with vendors and teams.
Responsibilities
- Design hydraulic and pneumatic systems for custom capital equipment.
- Create and maintain hydraulic/pneumatic schematics and layouts.
- Ensure safety measures, containment, and fail-safe operation.
- Collaborate with Controls Engineers for system integration and troubleshooting.
- Develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for fabrication.
- Provide day-to-day engineering support during build and commissioning.
