Placements24 is partnering with a respected engineering firm in South Africa to appoint a Hydraulic Engineer based in Welkom, Free State. The role covers design, analysis, and implementation of hydraulic systems for water supply, wastewater, and flood control projects.

You will apply fluid mechanics theory, perform hydraulic modeling with EPANET, HEC-RAS, or SWMM, and prepare drawings and calculations while ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with hydraulics specialization.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in hydraulic design/analysis.
• Pr Eng with ECSA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis for water and wastewater systems.
• Design components of water supply networks including pipelines, pumps and reservoirs.
• Develop designs for wastewater collection and treatment systems.
• Conduct hydraulic studies for flood risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with SA water and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, project managers and clients.
• Conduct site visits for data collection and construction oversight.
