Job description

Hydraulic Assembler

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour | Full-Time | Gulfport, MS

POSITION SUMMARY

The Hydraulic Assembler builds and tests hydraulic components and cylinder assemblies according to work instructions and specifications. The role involves precision assembly, inspection, torque application, sealing and lubrication processes, and testing completed hydraulic cylinders.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Read work instructions and locate the correct parts, materials, and tooling for each assembly.
  • Inspect hydraulic components for contamination, rust, scratches, dents, or other defects before assembly.
  • Clean and prepare heads, pistons, rods, and related components for assembly.
  • Pack heads and pistons and protect prepared components from contamination.
  • Build rod assemblies using required hardware, sealants, protectants, and specified torque settings.
  • Press bushings and assemble rods and hydraulic cylinders as required.
  • Apply lubricants, thread-locking compounds, anti-seize, or other approved assembly materials as specified.
  • Inspect and document completed parts and required dimensional information.
  • Load completed cylinders onto test equipment and perform hydraulic cylinder testing as assigned.
  • Monitor testing equipment, make necessary adjustments, document results, and report rejects or rework.
  • Move completed components to the appropriate staging or next-production area.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and a clean, safe work area.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous hydraulic, mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, or related manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, shop instructions, and assembly specifications.
  • Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of fasteners, torque, seals, fittings, and precision assembly.
  • Ability to use tape measures, steel rules, and common hand and assembly tools.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail when working with hydraulic components.
  • Ability to recognize defects and accurately document completed work.
  • Ability to safely handle components and follow established production and safety procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & EXPECTATIONS

Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment and may involve noise, moving equipment, metal components, oils, dust, and changing temperatures.

Must consistently follow PPE requirements, safe lifting practices, equipment procedures, and all workplace safety rules.

Must be able to stand and move for extended periods and perform the lifting, reaching, bending, and material-handling duties required for the position.

Must maintain dependable attendance, quality workmanship, productivity, and a team-oriented approach.
