Yates Industries, Inc. is seeking a diligent assembler to build hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders on site in Decatur, AL. You will read blueprints, install components, perform tests, and document results to ensure safety and quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Prior heavy assembly experience is a plus, with thorough attention to detail and safety conformance.

Position Overview:The

Essential Duties:(Additional duties may be assigned as required.)

• Assemble hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders according to blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.
• Install seals, pistons, rods, end caps, and other cylinder components with accuracy and efficiency.
• Inspect parts for defects, proper fit, and quality prior to and during assembly.
• Perform pressure and functional testing of completed cylinders to verify performance and safety standards.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, etc.) during assembly.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Communicate issues with parts, materials, or equipment to supervisors or quality control staff.
• Assist with continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Able to prioritize jobs
• Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Mechanical background
• Ability to read basic blueprints
• Able to read a tape measure and calipers
• Prior heavy assembly experience is a plus
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail is critical

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
