Job summary

Boulder County Public Works Department seeks a Zero Waste Program Manager to lead the county's zero waste initiatives, including recycling drop-off centers, mountain waste facilities, and licensing programs. The role offers a hybrid work schedule with some remote work and a 8:00am-4:30pm schedule, based in Boulder, CO.

The position is exempt and located in the Resource Conservation Division. Qualifications include substantial education and experience in environmental studies or related fields,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years combined education and experience in environmental studies, public administration, business administration or related field.
• Experience with zero waste, sustainable materials management, resource conservation, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the Zero Waste Program and staff across facilities and programs.
• Manages and coordinates mountain transfer stations and hauler licensing.
• Leads implementation of local, regional, and state-wide zero waste policies.
• Prepares program budgets and financial reports; monitors expenditures.
