Job summary

City and County of Broomfield is seeking a Recycling Technician to support the Recycling Center, residential waste services, and interdepartmental recycling programs. The role requires knowledge of waste streams, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You will perform education and outreach, data tracking and analysis for diversion initiatives, and collaborate with community partners. The position may involve evening or weekend work and occasional manual tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
• 1 year experience in hazardous materials management or public education programs required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Recycling Center, keep the facility/drop-off clean and safe.
• Provide recycling guidance and reuse-and-reduce resources to residents.
• Perform data collection, metrics tracking and analysis for waste and diversion.
• Develop and deliver zero-waste education and community outreach.
• Coordinate internal battery recycling and monitor facilities for quality control.
