Job summary

Qualifications

• Seven years of professional experience in managing environmental programs, with at least four years in zero waste/recycling.
• Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities; ability to supervise multiple staff and manage a team.
• Experience developing and implementing cross-sector policies and programs across residential, commercial, and construction sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of zero waste goals and programs across SF sectors.
• Develop objectives focused on waste prevention, source separation, recycling and composting.
• Measure and report progress of zero waste initiatives and budgets to increase effectiveness.
• Provide zero waste expertise and mentor a team of professionals; oversee budgets, contracts and grants.
• Represent the department in collaborations with public agencies and private partners; integrate equity considerations into program management.
