Job summary

Seneca Family of Agencies is seeking a Youth Support Counselor to provide family-centered mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and case management for youth and families in the community. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team offering trauma-informed, culturally responsive services.

The role supports Wraparound services in San Luis Obispo with a hybrid schedule, occasional on-call shifts, and compensation starting at $24.94–$27.44 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with youth and families or social services is preferred.
• TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and state/federal requirements may apply.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling and case management for enrolled youth and families.
• Help connect clients to natural supports and community resources.
• Provide crisis intervention and other mental health services at homes, schools, and community locations.
• Attend treatment reviews, staff meetings, and IEP meetings when needed.
• Complete mental health notes and service tracking documentation.
• Arrange transportation for school, therapy, and court hearings as needed.
• Attend trainings, supervision, and adhere to clinical best practices.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule and participate in on-call shifts.
• Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques per training.
