Job summary

Seneca Family of Agencies in Sacramento seeks a Youth Stabilization Specialist to provide daily care, guidance, and emotional support in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive program for youth aged 11–17.

Role includes crisis response, life skills facilitation, and coordination of transportation for school and appointments. Swing and night shifts are available; salary ranges from $28.45 to $30.95 per hour and increases yearly.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience requirements as listed: multiple combinations to meet direct supervision and care of youth in social services.
• Be part of rotating emergency on-call system, scheduled ahead of time.
• At least 21 years old.
• TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous supervision, structure, and emotional support to youth in accordance with STRTP licensing and agency standards.
• Implement daily routines, behavioral support strategies, and activities aligned with individual treatment plans.
• Utilize trauma-informed communication and de-escalation techniques to help youth manage distress or conflict.
• Intervene in crisis situations following approved agency and CDSS policies to ensure safety.
• Participate in incident reviews, safety planning, and staff debriefings to improve care practices.
• Coordinate and assist with transportation arrangements for school, medical, social activities, therapy appointments, and court hearings.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide crisis support.
• Attend program staff meetings and additional meetings when necessary.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and on time, consistent with CDSS STRTP and agency requirements.
• Participate in weekly supervision with the program supervisor or designee.

Education

Bachelor’s degree + 1 year experience

Associate degree or equivalent + 2 year of applicable experience

High school diploma/GED + 3 years of applicable experience
