Job summary

Confidential Employer in Newport Beach, California, is seeking an experienced attorney to manage workers' compensation and employment-related matters from opening through resolution. You will advise clients on strategy, take and defend depositions, draft motions and briefs, and participate in hearings and mediations in a hybrid work environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of relevant experience, a Juris Doctor degree, and an active California Bar license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of workers' compensation or employment law experience.
• Active California Bar license required.
• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Experience with employment litigation, PAGA, or workers' compensation matters.
• Significant experience taking and defending depositions preferred.
• Experience with motions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
• Strong legal research, writing, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to independently manage matters and competing deadlines.
• Excellent organization, judgment, communication, and attention to detail.
• Strong client relationship skills and professional ethics.
• Administrative or managerial experience preferred.

• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and status.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal support professionals to provide responsive, high-quality representation.

Note:

Candidates must have 2+ years of directly relevant experience in either workers' compensation or employment law, including PAGA matters where applicable.
