Job summary

RibbitZ LLC in Cleveland, OH is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Paralegal to support attorneys in a busy law office. The role focuses on managing Ohio workers' compensation claims, filings and deadlines with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of paralegal experience, a paralegal certificate or related degree, and strong writing and organizational skills to draft pleadings and coordinate medical records, hearings and trials.

Qualifications

• At least three years of paralegal experience in a law firm or other legal setting.
• Working knowledge of Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation and Industrial Commission of Ohio procedures.
• Paralegal certificate, related degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Excellent writing, proofreading, analytical and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and complete time-sensitive assignments.
• Sound judgment and a proactive approach to attorney support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare workers' compensation claims for administrative hearings.
• Draft pleadings, claim summaries, correspondence and other legal documents.
• Request, organize and review medical records.
• Coordinate independent medical examinations and prepare summary correspondence.
• Monitor case activity, filing requirements and critical deadlines.
• Submit documents electronically to courts and administrative agencies.
• Proofread filings for accuracy and compliance with applicable rules.
• Assist with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings and trials.
• Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, medical providers and outside parties.
• Identify potential issues and escalate them appropriately.
