Job summary

Cephas Consultancy Services Private Limited in Cleveland, Ohio, seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Paralegal to support attorneys in a hybrid work environment. This role requires at least three years of paralegal experience and familiarity with Ohio workers' compensation procedures.

You will manage claims, filings and deadlines, prepare pleadings and coordinate with medical providers and courts. Strong written communication and organizational skills are essential as you draft documents,

Qualifications

• At least three years of paralegal experience in a law firm or legal setting.
• Familiarity with Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation and Industrial Commission of Ohio procedures.
• Paralegal certificate, related degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare workers' compensation claims for administrative hearings
• Draft pleadings, claim summaries, correspondence and other legal documents
• Request, organize and review medical records
• Coordinate independent medical examinations and prepare summary correspondence
• Monitor case activity, filing requirements and critical deadlines
• Submit documents electronically to courts and administrative agencies
• Proofread filings for accuracy and compliance with applicable rules
• Assist with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings and trials
• Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, medical providers and outside parties
• Identify potential issues and escape them appropriately
