Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster to investigate and manage claims from initial intake to resolution. The role interfaces with associates, attorneys, healthcare providers and brand partners.

Hybrid work is offered with 1 in-person day and 4 remote days; position can be based in Salisbury, NC or Quincy, MA. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

• Licensed adjuster or ability to obtain license where required.
• Bachelor's degree or 4 years WC claims experience.
• Thorough knowledge of workers' compensation rules, statutes and procedures.
• Knowledge of medical terminology involved in complex claims.
• Strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage WC caseload within targets; investigate, evaluate, negotiate and disposition claims.
• Ensure timely statutory deadlines and filings.
• Analyze loss facts to develop claims strategies and reduce total cost of risk.
• Identify fraud indicators and pursue subrogation opportunities.
• Collaborate with Safety and internal/external customers to address issues.
• Handle claim communications via phone, email and online systems.
• Manage book of claims up to $1 million with authority to settle up to $50,000.
• Communicate ongoing causes of injuries to Safety and Brands.
• Serve as primary contact for claim issues affecting customers and vendors.
