Job summary

University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Web Developer to join the Office of University Communications and Marketing. You will help design and build accessible, responsive websites and digital experiences for academic and administrative units.

The role focuses on Drupal and WordPress CMS, translating designs into code, collaborating with project managers, content specialists, designers, vendors, and supervisors, and ensuring WCAG-compliant experiences across platforms.

Qualifications

• Must be a good problem solver with strong communication skills.
• Must be able to translate designs into accessible, responsive web interfaces.
• Must meet deadlines and work well in a collaborative, hybrid/remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop accessible, responsive frontend components from approved UX/IA specifications.
• Create and modify Drupal and WordPress themes based on designs.
• Implement the back-end of university websites in Drupal and WordPress.
• Complete updates, support, and enhancement tasks for existing client websites.
• Build content integrations with third-party systems.
• Contribute to functional/technical planning and QA activities.
• Participate in analytics implementation and data layer events.
