Job summary

University of Washington | College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a Web Developer to maintain and enhance public-facing websites, develop tools, and improve editor experiences. You will work with the Web Services Team to deliver secure, scalable web solutions that align with university standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration, accessibility, and modern web practices within an agile environment, reporting to the Director of Web Services.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and two years of relevant experience.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.
Familiarity with Drupal 10+ or comparable CMS and modern web development practices.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain websites and web applications.
Design, implement and enhance website features and functionality.
Refine user interfaces based on user feedback and usability best practices.
Test websites across platforms to ensure functionality, performance and compatibility.
Evaluate technical feasibility and ensure accessibility design best practices are met.
Ensure compliance with security, privacy, accessibility and institutional policies.
Stay current with industry trends and collaborate on new technologies.
Maintain documentation for systems, processes and code.
Collaborate with teams to deliver secure, reliable web solutions.
Contribute to web strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
