Job summary

AMT is seeking an Entry Level Water Resources Engineer for our Towson, MD office. The position starts in May 2027 after graduation and involves typical water resources design tasks such as stormwater management, drainage systems, and erosion controls.

The role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects across AMT offices and a hybrid (office/remote) work arrangement, with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus in Water Resources.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic modeling (drainage, SWM, floodplain).
• FE/EIT exam completed or preferred.
• Design knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and reporting.
• Collect and Analyze data for mapping and reporting.
• Design of open and closed drainage systems, stormwater facilities and erosion controls.
• Assist in preparing engineering documents (plans, reports, estimates, specs) for advertisement and construction.
• Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
