Job summary

General Motors is seeking an experienced Virtualization and SIL Integration Engineer in a hybrid role based near Milford, MI. You will develop cosimulation components and virtual controller models to support the SIL ART, enabling verification of embedded controllers across propulsion, battery, chassis, and body domains.

The role requires 2+ years in software engineering with Embedded C/C++/Python, MATLAB/Simulink, and automotive communication protocols.

Qualifications

BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
2+ years software engineering experience.
Proficient in Embedded C, C++, Python.
Experience with embedded controls software and build tools (gcc, gdb, Eclipse, Jenkins, ETAS INCA).
MATLAB/Simulink for plant model development and integration; basic use of GT-Power/AMESIM/CarSim.
Automotive comms: CAN, LIN, SPI, automotive ethernet.
Familiar with FMI/SSP and AUTOSAR layered software architecture.

Responsibilities

Lead development and integration of cosimulation components to meet end-user test requirements.
Create virtual controller models for use across simulations.
Develop and test virtual controller components (HWIO, RTOS, communication models).
Parameterize sub-system models (sensors/actuators/ECU behavior).
Collaborate with development engineers on feature requirements and issue resolution.
Define SIMBOMs based on test requirements.
Integrate plant models and ECU models into dynamic virtual simulations.
Maintain release documentation and provide testing support.
