Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Virtual Infrastructure Architect to lead the architecture, design, and ongoing optimization of our virtual infrastructure, with a focus on VMware and Nutanix platforms. The role drives standards, modernization initiatives, and collaboration across infrastructure, cloud, storage, network, and security teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong expertise in VMware vSphere, vCenter, and core components.
• Proven experience designing and supporting hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI).
• Deep working knowledge of vROps for monitoring and capacity planning.
• Solid understanding of compute, storage, and networking in virtualized environments.
• Experience supporting 24x7 production systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of enterprise VMware vSphere environments, incl. ESXi and vCenter.
• Architect hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) to meet performance and resilience needs.
• Define reference architectures, standards, and best practices for virtual compute, storage, and management.
• Own and optimize vROps for performance monitoring, capacity management, and trend analysis.
• Lead platform lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, and hardware refreshes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align infra with workload requirements.
