Job summary

The University of Washington seeks a Violence Prevention and Response Specialist to provide trauma-informed intake, safety planning and BTAM. You will manage the helpline, triage threats, coordinate referrals, and support VPAT and campus partners with prevention initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in social work, public administration/health, gender studies or psychology.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in violence prevention, intervention or threat assessment.
  • Demonstrated empathy with diverse populations and crisis situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; comfort with public speaking.

Responsibilities

  • Handle SafeCampus helpline CASE intake and management, triage threats, provide confidential support.
  • Coordinate referrals to university and community resources; follow-up on risk mitigation.
  • Maintain records and support VPAT meetings, including action plans and documentation.
  • Collaborate with UW partners and committees across campuses; represent SafeCampus.
  • Deliver trainings, presentations and program support to advance prevention efforts.
