Job summary

TechnoServe in Arlington, VA seeks a Payroll and Compliance Manager to oversee US and expatriate payroll, employer insurance programs, incident reporting, and governance tracking. This role partners with HR and accounting to ensure accurate processing and regulatory compliance across states and international operations.

You will manage semi-monthly payroll for 100–200 employees, file tax forms, coordinate with the payroll provider, and contribute to risk management, policy updates, and audit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years payroll experience or Master's with 5+ years.
• Experience with workforce management software platforms; UKG preferred.
• Payroll processing knowledge for nonprofit organizations operating internationally.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payroll for 100-200 US and expatriate staff.
• Ensure compliance with US office time policy.
• Audit payroll records and resolve discrepancies with HR and accounting.
• Prepare payroll data for posting in the accounting system.
• Coordinate with HR and Finance to improve payroll processes.
• File quarterly and year-end tax filings (W-2, 941, deposits).
• Maintain payroll registrations and filings across states.
• Assist in audit schedules and donor/regulatory filings.
