Job summary

Amtex Enterprises Inc. seeks an Application Technical Specialist to support legacy DCR applications on SCO Unix and perform Unix administration in a hybrid role (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) in Trenton, NJ.

You will maintain SCO UnixWare environments, develop and troubleshoot shell scripts for batch processing, debug legacy code, and work with business users and developers to ensure reliable production support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of overall application development experience.
• 3+ years of experience with DCR programming language.
• 3+ years of SCO UnixWare administration experience.
• 3+ years of Unix Shell Scripting experience.
• 3+ years of production support for legacy applications.
• Experience supporting legacy DCR applications on SCO Unix.
• Experience with flat-file processing and batch job management.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain legacy DCR applications operating on SCO Unix platforms.
• Provide administration and support for SCO UnixWare environments.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Unix shell scripts used in batch processing operations.
• Monitor and support mission-critical processing systems in production environments.
• Perform flat-file processing and manage scheduled batch jobs.
• Debug, analyze, and reverse engineer legacy code with limited or outdated documentation.
• Collaborate with business users, developers, and technical teams to resolve application issues and implement enhancements.
• Evaluate system modifications and recommend improvements to application functionality and performance.
• Identify and implement best practices, standards, and process improvements to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Coordinate development and support activities as needed across application teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation relating to application functionality, support procedures, and system changes.
• Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and ongoing production support activities.
