Job summary

NTT DATA Services in Merrimack, NH seeks a Mainframe Engineer (Onsite Hybrid) to lead architecture and delivery of high-scale COBOL/DB2 platforms. You will guide teams, set technical standards, and drive improvements across projects in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates bring extensive COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL and CICS experience, plus a track record of mentoring engineers and delivering reliable, scalable solutions for demanding data workloads.

Qualifications

• 8+ years on COBOL, DB2, VSAM and JCL.
• 5+ years CICS System knowledge would be valuable.

Responsibilities

• Provide thought & technical leadership for the key initiatives.
• Developing and maintaining architecture solutions on a platform dedicated to high scale processing of large amounts of data.
• Setting, communicating, and reinforcing technical standards
• Providing leadership for junior and senior engineers alike, by understanding how to leverage and enhance their current skills
• Assessing and researching current implementations of the platform and determining the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs.
• Working with Operations to plan major infrastructure upgrades, to troubleshoot issues and to tune the environment for optimal performance and uptime
• Collaborating with peers and management on process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements, and opportunities to improve our customer's service experience.
• Participating in code review and unit testing and providing support on issues in non-prod or production
