Job summary

NTT DATA Services in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Mainframe Engineer (Onsite Hybrid) to lead and deliver large-scale data processing platforms, including COBOL/DB2/VSAM/JCL within a highly transactional environment.

You will mentor engineers, set technical standards, and collaborate with Operations on upgrades to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This role offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years on COBOL, DB2, VSAM and JCL.
• 5+ years CICS System knowledge would be valuable.
• Good understanding of CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing process.
• Familiar with DB2 tools, File-Aid, scheduler and debugger tools.
• Exposure to Brokerage/Finance domain will be an added advantage.
• Experience in highly transactional, fault tolerant and data driven systems.
• Ability to lead through influence and drive data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide thought & technical leadership for the key initiatives.
• Developing and maintaining architecture solutions on a platform dedicated to high scale processing of large amounts of data.
• Setting, communicating, and reinforcing technical standards
• Providing leadership for junior and senior engineers alike, by understanding how to leverage and enhance their current skills
• Assessing and researching current implementations of the platform and determining the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs.
• Working with Operations to plan major infrastructure upgrades, to troubleshoot issues and to tune the environment for optimal performance and uptime
• Collaborating with peers and management on process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements, and opportunities to improve our customer's service experience.
• Participating in code review and unit testing and providing support on issues in non-prod or production
