Job summary

Apple Bank in New York is seeking a Universal Banker to serve as a full-service point of contact for clients. The role blends Customer Service Representative and Teller duties in a hybrid setting, delivering prompt, courteous service and handling monetary and account related transactions.

The UB will open new accounts, educate customers on products, and refer to licensed representatives when needed, building long-term client relationships and supporting branch leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years retail banking experience in Teller/CSR roles.
• Solid knowledge of banking operations (risk, compliance, fraud, loss).
• Experience in building customer relationships.
• Ability to learn about banking products and services.
• Willingness to cross-train in other branch functions.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Confident, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; good phone skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Weekend/extended hours or travel to nearby branches may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service in a friendly, professional manner.
• Explain features and benefits of Apple Bank products and services.
• Identify opportunities to grow banking relationships and refer to licensed reps when needed.
• Establish and deepen relationships to meet sales/referral goals.
• Handle teller operations and process transactions per policies.
• Assist in opening/closing vaults, ATM operations, and maintain orderly customer area.
• Communicate disclosures and FDIC protection to customers opening new accounts.
• Maintain accurate new account records and follow up as needed.
• Adhere to regulatory, compliance, security, audit policies, and conduct codes.
• Protect bank assets and ensure CIP/BSA compliance.
• Assist in training new tellers and CSRs.
• Build knowledge through workshops and ongoing education.
