Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking an Underwriting Support Specialist in a hybrid Chicago office. You will assist the underwriting team with administrative tasks, including policy processing, renewals, endorsements, and inquiries from brokers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proven research and analytical skills to identify, gather and organize information to provide recommendations.
• Working knowledge of PC based systems and applications such as Microsoft Office and data-based systems.
• Ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to processing department for new and renewal accounts.
• Provide instruction to processing department for endorsement requests.
• Process endorsements assigned to Underwriting.
• Fulfill brokers' requests for loss runs, policy copies, invoicing, etc.
• Provide agency support on renewal, endorsement, cancellation, billing, and commissions questions.
• Requote within current systems, adjusting credits/debits/deductibles as needed.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
• Complete renewal proposals as requested.
• Manually rate coverages not fully automated.
• Handle full renewal process as permitted by Letter of Authority.
• Complete file documentation per guidelines.
• Respond to agent service questions and resolve issues satisfactorily.
• Follow up on outstanding issues (loss control recommendations, etc.).
• Support Underwriters in their activities as needed.
• Stay current with market trends and demands.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
