Job summary

Sompo is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support its underwriting team across multiple business lines in the Northern Hub. The role is based in Cologne, Munich, or Hamburg, with a hybrid work setting and strong emphasis on collaboration and timely delivery.

You will handle underwriting operations, data entry in Guidewire, and document issuance while maintaining high quality across internal and external customers. Fluent German and English are required to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in German and English.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with team orientation.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support across operations, procedures and policies.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
• Perform data entry in Guidewire and updates in eDocument platforms.
• Monitor tasks with offshore team and ensure turnaround times.
• Issue policy documents (schedules, wording, endorsements, invoices, certificates) with Policy Administration.
• Collaborate on multinational programs and cross-train where needed.
