Job summary

BBVA, a global financial institution, seeks a Regulatory Reporting Manager for its New York Branch. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in regulatory reporting, financial reporting, or accounting within financial services.
• Experience with a U.S. branch of a Foreign Banking Organization (FBO).
• Strong knowledge of U.S. regulatory reporting: FR 2420 FR 2644 FFIEC 002 FR Y-7.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Experience with financial instruments: loans, fixed income, derivatives, commitments.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros, large datasets).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Access (queries, SQL, data extraction).
• Familiarity with data reconciliation, data validation, and data controls.
• Experience with regulatory audits and examinations.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end preparation, review, and submission of U.S. regulatory reports in compliance with Fed, NYSDFS, and other requirements.
• Own critical regulatory filings like FR 2420, FR 2644, FFIEC 002, FRY-7; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as SME for U.S. regulatory reporting within an FBO framework and interpret regulatory guidance.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Treasury/ALM, Operations, and IT to improve data quality and reporting consistency.
• Align regulatory reporting with financial accounting; support month-, quarter-, year-end closes.
• Oversee balance sheet and off-balance sheet reconciliations for loans, securities, derivatives, etc.
• Lead review and remediation of suspense accounts and aged items.
• Be a key contact for regulatory reporting in supervisory interactions.
• Drive automation and process improvements across reporting processes.
• Contribute to strategic projects in regulatory reporting and system implementations.
