Job summary

State Farm seeks attorneys to join the Costa Mesa office as part of James T. Shott & Associates’ staff counsel team. The role involves owning files from inception to conclusion, handling litigation events, and collaborating with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Active law license to practice in California (California Bar).
• 2–15 years of civil trial litigation experience preferred in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers’ compensation.
• Strong jury trial, mediation, and deposition skills; ability to own files and manage cases end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation and related assignments per Law Department guidelines.
• Prepare and summarize reports for proceedings.
• Develop trial strategy and case development.
• Attend trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings.
