Job summary

State Farm seeks a Trial Attorney for its Los Angeles Claim Litigation Office. The role involves taking ownership of cases, managing litigation events, and delivering strategic trial preparation with dedicated support staff.

The attorney will work in a hybrid capacity and must hold an active California law license. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years’ litigation experience, including complex trial exposure and potential first/second chair roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers’ compensation.
• Recent trial experience handling complex cases involving trials with significant exposure (beyond bench trials).
• Experience trying cases in the first or second chair is highly preferred.
• Active California law license in good standing with the State Bar of California is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation and other legal assignments in alignment with guidelines set by the Law Department
• Prepare and summarize reports related to legal proceedings
• Develop trial strategies and manage case progress through litigation phases
• Attend and actively participate in litigation events, including trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings
