Job summary

Consor is seeking a Drainage Design Engineer to apply hydrologic and hydraulic principles to drainage infrastructure for transportation projects. You will prepare plans, calculations, and reports, and support regulatory compliance while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers growth in technical expertise, ownership of deliverables, and opportunities to advance in a hybrid office/field environment, emphasizing public safety and system resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–10 years of transportation drainage experience with DOT projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in MicroStation ORD, AutoCAD, and Civil3D software.
• Proposal writing/marketing experience is a plus.
• Hybrid office/field environment; occasional field exposure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review drainage design plans, calculations, and reports for transportation projects.
• Apply drainage standards and agency guidelines for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform hydrologic analyses, sizing, modeling, and cost estimates for projects.
• Use modeling software to evaluate drainage performance and flood risk.
• Coordinate with road, structural, environmental teams and clients.
• Provide QA reviews and respond to drainage-related comments during plan development.
