Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to apply expertise in 69kV–765kV line design, structural analysis, and foundation work. You will model lines, assess ROW needs, and develop drawings and specifications for materials and construction.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in transmission line engineering, PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE proficiency, and strong communication skills. The role offers a hybrid schedule with relocation assistance for the right candidate.

Qualifications

This position requires a BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
Two or more years related experience in transmission line engineering.
Proficiency with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models.

Responsibilities

Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.
Perform structural analysis and design of pole, lattice, framed, and guyed structures.
Perform foundation designs.
Perform conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
Develop cost estimates and schedules and prepare specifications for procurement.
Specify transmission line components.
Model lines in PLS-CADD, determine ROW requirements, calculate conductor sags, and develop drawings.
Review vendor submittals.
