Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a transmission line engineer to apply knowledge of conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles to design lines from 69kV to 765kV. The role includes structural analysis, foundation design, conductor studies, cost estimates, and vendor review.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, with relocation assistance available depending on location.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• Related engineering internship or co-op experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• 1+ year of transmission line engineering experience or Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in 69kV–765kV range.
• Perform structural analysis and design of poles, lattice, framed, guyed structures.
• Perform foundation designs for transmission lines.
• Conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
• Develop cost estimates and specifications for procurement of materials and construction.
• Specify transmission line components and model lines in PLS-CADD.
• Review vendor submittals.
