Job summary

Dudek is seeking a Director of Transmission Engineering to lead and grow transmission services for energy clients in a hybrid/remote role. This senior leader will oversee project delivery, build client teams, shape strategy, and strengthen relationships across the energy sector.

The ideal candidate has 10–15+ years in transmission, a PE license, and a track record of winning work through networking and proposals.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (power-focused programs preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
10+ years of experience in site development engineering and design for transmission systems
Strong command of industry codes, standards, and best practices
Strong people leadership and client-facing experience
Proven experience reviewing plan & profile drawings, Sag & tension charts, Poles, structures, and foundations
Preferred tools: PLS‑CADD, PLS‑POLE, PLS‑TOWER, PSSE, CAD platforms and PDF markup tools

Responsibilities

Lead teams developing transmission design drawings across civil, electrical, and structural engineering functions
Lead, mentor, and scale a transmission engineering team
Set short- and long-term goals with KPIs for delivery, quality, and growth
Oversee staffing, resourcing, training, and technical development
Apply established transmission engineering principles, codes, and procedures
Lead transmission design from conceptual phase through design completion
Review transmission design deliverables at senior technical level
Coordinate with environmental teams and ensure deliverables meet client expectations
