Job summary

Invenergy, LLC is seeking a Director of Transmission Development to oversee the creation and progression of new transmission projects, guiding strategy and execution across multiple regions and business models.

The role requires leadership of cross-functional teams including engineering, grid planning, finance, and regulatory groups, culminating in compelling proposals and decision-ready materials for senior leadership and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required in Economics, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven leadership and people-management experience.
• Experience coordinating with external consultants and development partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification, evaluation, and advancement of new transmission opportunities.
• Develop and execute strategies from early stage through proposal and permitting.
• Coordinate across engineering, grid planning, finance, environmental review, routing, and regulatory workstreams.
• Prepare complex proposals and business cases for senior leadership and external partners.
• Mentor and manage a team of direct reports and matrixed colleagues.
• Build partnerships with utilities, customers, stakeholders, and regulators.
• Identify and communicate project risks and drive mitigation across schedules and budgets.
