Job summary

Galloway & Company, Inc. seeks a Traffic Engineering Project Manager to lead and deliver traffic and transportation engineering projects for public and private clients.

You will own project performance, client relationships, and technical delivery from scoping through execution. The role requires experience in traffic analysis, roadway design, and leading multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on growing the practice and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering (consulting preferred).
• Strong understanding of traffic analysis, signal timing, and roadway design principles.
• Experience with traffic engineering software Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM and HCS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a billable environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic engineering projects from scoping through final delivery.
• Own project scope, schedule, budget, and profitability.
• Identify and manage risks, scope changes, and client expectations.
• Ensure high-quality technical deliverables and consistency across projects.
• Delegate and oversee work by junior staff for efficiency and accuracy.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and coordinate with reviewing agencies.
• Provide direction and mentorship to junior staff and support their development.
• Develop scopes of work, schedules, and fee proposals with minimal oversight.
• Contribute to proposals, interviews, and client strategy; support growth of the practice.
