Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineering Manager based in Orange or Los Angeles, CA, in a hybrid role. The ideal candidate will lead traffic engineering projects, review studies, and collaborate with planners, designers, and construction managers to deliver safe and efficient transportation solutions.

Required BA/BS plus 6 years of experience or equivalent, and a California PE license. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, 8+ years experience, and experience with LADOT/Caltrans.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Develop and review traffic impact studies, traffic signal designs, and roadway safety audits.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including planners, designers, and construction managers.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and findings to clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct field investigations and data collection to support project development.
• Utilize traffic simulation software and other engineering tools to analyze and solve complex traffic issues.
