Job summary

Invenergy, headquartered in Chicago, seeks a Project Engineer, Thermal to support geothermal and thermal project development across North America. You will manage design, permitting, bids, and construction oversight, coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

The role requires a strong thermodynamics background, 3+ years’ experience on large capital projects, and US work eligibility. Hybrid in-office/remote work Fridays may apply.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical, electrical, civil, petroleum, chemical or related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years’ experience in project engineering management of large capital projects with geothermal or thermal focus.
• Familiarity with regulatory, siting, and environmental permitting processes for large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of project design and configuration.
• Experience translating subsurface energy into usable power; geothermal experience is advantageous.
• Spreadsheet modeling using Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review basic and detail design for power generation projects.
• Advise on feasibility of projects based on geothermal technologies and constraints.
• Lead technical efforts during development and collaborate with engineering and geophysicists.
• Review thermal heat balances for thermal power generation projects.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors; oversee design and construction during execution.
