Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Generation Development Engineer – Thermal to provide technical engineering support for new power generation projects leveraging thermal technologies such as simple and combined cycle turbines, natural gas fuel cells, and other emerging energy tech. The role spans origination through regulatory approval with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET accredited curriculum (or recognized equivalency)
• 0+ years relevant engineering experience
• Preferred EIT/FE (Engineer in Training) preferred

Responsibilities

• Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
• Fully demonstrates the unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level by applying technical standards, principles, theories and techniques to lead projects of moderate to large size, scope and complexity.
• Coordinates/leads multiple projects or portions of projects.
• Supports bid/evaluation processes including preparation of bid documents and technical evaluations for proposals.
