Job summary
Battelle seeks a Test Engineer for its Infrastructure Safety & Security Division, in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 1+ year
- Experience with explosive testing and instrumentation
- Experience with data acquisition and testing instrumentation
- Experience with blast measurement techniques and sensors
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation of blast responses in aircraft structures
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, Access and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to read/write technical documents
- Willingness to travel 25–50% to APG, MD
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD security clearances
Responsibilities
- Develop test matrices and plans for DHS blast tests using aircraft assets
- Assist DHS/DoD contractors with test activities and instrumentation setup
- Acquire, store, reduce, and analyze instrumentation data from tests
- Draft test plans, conduct tests, and prepare result analyses
- Support predictive blast modeling and simulation for test planning
- Develop work breakdown structures and track project activities
- Work outdoors in varying conditions and lift up to 20 pounds
