Job summary

SMX is seeking a Technical Lead to guide a team of engineers in design, development, and delivery of mission-critical solutions. The role is hybrid, with roughly 50% leadership and 50% hands-on coding, architecture, and system design.

You will translate complex requirements into actionable plans and engage customers to ensure successful outcomes. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software development or systems engineering, 3+ years in technical leadership, and strong experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or team lead capacity, with demonstrated ability to manage technical projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Proven hands-on proficiency in modern programming languages and technologies (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C#; Docker/Kubernetes; cloud-native services).
• Strong understanding of project management principles (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and experience applying them in a technical environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated experience in customer-facing roles, with a track record of successful engagement and management.
• CompTIA Security+
• Cloud Certification: Any recognized AWS certification

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for mission-critical solutions.
• Guide a team of engineers; mentor, delegate tasks, and manage workloads.
• Engage with customers as the primary technical point of contact.
• Lead Agile ceremonies and project execution; manage risk and dependencies.
• Contribute hands-on coding, design, and system architecture as needed.
• Ensure code quality, security, and performance through reviews and best practices.
