Job summary

Scanner is building a Security Data Lake and is seeking a Director of Talent & People Operations to own recruiting, HRIS, payroll, benefits, and employee operations as the company scales.

You will lead talent strategy across engineering, product, sales, and marketing, while partnering with founders to evolve culture, structure, and systems. This is a hands-on builder role with real impact on growth and people experience.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years across Talent, Recruiting, and People in high-growth tech
• Experience helping a company rapidly double or triple in size and building necessary infrastructure
• Deep recruiting expertise across engineering, product, and GTM roles
• Proven ability to build recruiting programs, People systems, processes, and operating rhythms
• Strong hands-on recruiting ability: sourcing, searches, interviewing, closing difficult candidates
• Strong People Operations fundamentals: HRIS, payroll, benefits, compensation, onboarding, lifecycle

Responsibilities

• Own Talent Strategy & Recruiting: translate headcount plans into proactive hiring across technical and GTM.
• Build a recruiting engine to support rapid growth while maintaining a high talent bar.
• Lead critical senior and difficult-to-fill searches.
• Develop outbound sourcing and partner with agencies as needed.
• Own Recruiting Operations: ATS, scheduling, offers, reporting, agency management.
• Scale hiring processes, interviewer training, and operating rhythms to improve velocity and candidate experience.
• Own HRIS, payroll, benefits, compliance, records, onboarding.
• Develop compensation, leveling, promotions, performance management, and career paths.
• Evolve People systems to stay ahead of growth.
• Shape Scanner's culture with leadership and onboarding programs.
• Partner on workforce planning and organizational design.
• Use data to inform hiring, retention and health of the org.
