Job summary

The San Francisco Compute Company, based in San Francisco, seeks an experienced head of recruiting to own and scale our talent function. You will lead full-cycle hiring for both technical and strategic roles, partner with managers, and craft a repeatable, data-driven hiring engine.

This is a hands-on build-and-run role with growth into leadership. You will report to the People Leader and collaborate with People Operations and Office teams to design a scalable process and a strong candidate

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting at a high-growth startup or top-tier firm.
• Proven track record closing hard-to-fill tech roles; can converse with engineers and spot red flags.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting for technical and strategic roles, carrying a meaningful req load personally.
• Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, success criteria, and candidate profiles.
• Build the hiring engine: repeatable sourcing, interview loops, scorecards, debrief norms, closing strategies.
• Own and evolve the recruiting stack (Ashby), with data integrity and reporting.
• Manage agency and sourcing partner relationships and budget.
• Own the candidate experience from outreach to offer acceptance.
• Develop talent brand through content, events, communities, candidate touchpoints.
• Use data to run the function: pipeline health, conversions, time-to-fill, source effectiveness.
• Scope and build the talent team as hiring volume grows.
