Hybrid Systems Engineer – Medical Automation

Job summary

BD is seeking System Engineers to drive technology integration in automated pharmacy systems. You will collaborate with hardware, software, quality, and other teams to ensure top-level performance across subsystems and provide robust, testable designs.

The role requires experience with DFSS, FMEA, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic lab/production environment. The position is hybrid with 3 days in-office and up to 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in engineering, sciences, or related.
• Five years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Two years of experience with large electro-mechanical systems and troubleshooting desired.
• Strong technical background in systems engineering, medical device development, or similar.
• Familiar with systems integration and testing, system architecture planning and design, reliability engineering, project management, and FMEA.
• DFSS knowledge and experience or statistical test design and analysis knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
• Drives root cause investigations to troubleshoot customer issues in the field and resolve system difficulties.
• Contributes to system verification and validation activities including protocol writing, execution and reporting for regulatory submission.
• Supports transition from R&D to manufacturing/service and aids in system troubleshooting in the field.
• Liaises between R&D and quality/reliability functions to align on risk analysis and verification/validation.
