Job summary

UPMC in Pittsburgh is seeking an entry-level IT analyst to provide basic analytical and programming services, define requirements, and support applications to meet business needs. The role is hybrid with two days onsite per week in Downtown Pittsburgh.

You will document systems, gather user needs, assist E/A and engineering teams, support incidents, and participate in SDLC activities, data quality, and training. The position emphasizes collaboration and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Document system builds with flow charts and maintain team's existing documentation.
• Extract and document customer/business requirements for use by enterprise architecture and engineering teams.
• Provide Second and Third Level Support (including maintenance activities).
• Triage support issues and elevate accordingly.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot support issues.
• Contribute to project tasks and milestones under guidance of project manager or senior team members.
• Update all project management and time tracking tools accordingly.
• Demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of the system development life cycle (SDLC).
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
• Maintain data quality at all times.
• Interact with vendors under guidance of more experienced team members for technical issues and initiatives.
• Write, analyze and modify reports under guidance of more senior team members.
• Review and assist with end user training gap analyses and observe training sessions.
• Review and validate existing processes and identify improvements.
• Assist with application upgrades and implementations: testing plans and issue reporting.
• Validate system integrations and modify test plans as needed.
• Communicate clearly and effectively in written and oral form to support day-to-day work and projects.
• Collaborate with team and adapt to change with a proactive, team-first mindset.
• Pursue continuous self-study and development opportunities to stay current with industry trends.
