Job summary

ESL Federal Credit Union in Rochester, NY is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Systems Engineers and Desktop Support teams. The role focuses on maintaining performance and availability of the systems infrastructure, with involvement in new deployments and ongoing administration of servers and hyper-converged platforms. This position is hybrid and remote eligible for up to 40% of the time.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems/Computer Sciences or related discipline, or 4 additional years of strong equivalent experience as a Systems Administrator.
• 2+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, Exchange Online, Office365 Applications.
• Intermediate knowledge of and experience with server virtualization.
• Foundational knowledge of networking.
• Foundational knowledge of Linux.
• Knowledgeable on multiple hardware/software platforms.
• Strong planning, organizing, and coordination skills.
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills required.
• Must be flexible with working hours that occasionally change on short notice and be available for 24x7 on-call.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 3 support escalated by Desktop Support.
• Support installation, administration, and upgrades of ESL systems (VMware, Citrix, Windows/Linux servers).
• Work with Systems Engineers to build and document base server builds.
• Ensure 99.5% uptime or better for systems hardware and software.
• Collaborate with Information Security to meet regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in projects as a Network Services consultant to project teams.
• Maintain well-organized network services documentation.
