Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Systems Administrator II for its Shalimar, FL team. You will design, implement, secure, and manage the company’s network and workstation infrastructure, blending traditional admin duties with end-user support and IT asset management.

You’ll work on Active Directory, virtualization, storage, backups, scripting, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) while adhering to security standards and documenting systems for resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or seven years experience.
• Current Microsoft or Cisco certifications.
• Experience with Windows Server and Linux.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows and Linux server operating systems.
• Manage physical and virtual server infrastructure, including Proxmox, Hyper-V, or similar virtualization platforms.
• Administer enterprise Active Directory services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management solutions.
• Monitor system health, availability, capacity, and performance using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripts to automate tasks.
• Support cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments (Azure, AWS).
• Configure and maintain server security and compliance with standards.
• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation and diagrams.
