Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Systems Administrator II for its Shalimar, FL team. You will design, implement, secure, and manage the company’s network and workstation infrastructure, blending traditional admin duties with end-user support and IT asset management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or seven years experience.
• Current Microsoft or Cisco certifications.
• Experience with Windows Server and Linux.

• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Administrator II to be a part of out Shalimar, FL team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the design, implementation, security, and day-to-day administration of the company's network and workstation infrastructure. This role combines traditional network administration duties with front-line helpdesk support, end-user device deployment, and IT asset management, ensuring reliable technology operations across the entire facility. This position serves as a key point of contact for end users, resolving issues efficiently while maintaining strong cybersecurity practices and accurate systems documentation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows and Linux server operating systems
• Manage physical and virtual server infrastructure, including Proxmox, Hyper-V, or similar virtualization platforms
• Administer enterprise Active Directory services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management solutions
• Manage enterprise storage systems, file services, and backup infrastructure
• Monitor system health, availability, capacity, and performance using enterprise monitoring tools
• Perform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management while minimizing service interruptions
• Develop and maintain PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripts to automate routine administrative tasks
• Support cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments utilizing Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or similar cloud platforms
• Configure and maintain server security, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and compliance with organizational security standards
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, networking, and application infrastructure issues
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, backup validation, and business continuity testing
• Support application deployment activities in coordination with Development and DevOps teams
• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, operational procedures, and system diagrams
• Participate in infrastructure change management and release planning
• Provide technical support during system outages, maintenance windows, and incident response activities
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to provide after-hours support as required.

• Current Microsoft or Cisco certifications

Ideally, You'll Also Have

• Experience with Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud
• Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Entra ID

• Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Jenkins
• Security hardening and vulnerability management
• Relevant Microsoft, VMware, Linux, or cloud certifications.
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking, VLANs, and IP subnetting
• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure architecture and integration
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
• Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and high‑availability technologies
• Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively

The base salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $70,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
